Further growth secured: Pflegeplatzmanager GmbH closes a single-digit million financing round

  • 2020

Pflegeplatzmanager GmbH convinced three new private investors, together with the lead investor bm‑t and the private investor Torsten Pfeifer, CEO of the Treuenburg Group, to invest another seven-digit amount for the further growth of the company, which was a winner of the German Digital Awards in 2019.

«The digital business model of Pflegeplatzmanager GmbH enables the company to work efficiently even in times of Corona and provides hospitals, rehabilitation clinics and nursing providers with an important tool. The developments of the last few months show the full potential of the solution, which was developed by practitioners for practitioners. We are very pleased that new investors are joining the group of shareholders in this phase and that we can jointly finance further growth and business expansion», said Karin Rabe, Investmentmanager at bm|t.

Pflegeplatzmanager is a web-based platform solution that supports the discharge management of hospitals as well as the occupancy and admission management of subsequent care providers, including nursing homes, outpatient care, intensive care, palliative care, short-term care, preventive care, care authorities, professional caregivers, nursing insurance companies as well as health insurance companies, suppliers of aid, patient transport and nursing advice centers. The solution from Pflegeplatzmanager GmbH reduces this burden considerably. In addition, participating clinics and also post-operative care facilities can analyze the care structure and care landscape in a target-oriented manner in the future and draw valuable conclusions in order to efficiently coördinate supply and demand.

Pflegeplatzmanager advancing nationwide

After a successful pilot phase, the company´s market entry has been successfully implemented since 2019. In addition to framework agreements, e.g. with the Krankenhausgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg, coöperation agreements were also concluded with nationwide providers from the health care sector. In the meantime, Pflegeplatzmanager GmbH has developed into the leading platform in the area of discharge and admission management in Germany. 187 hospitals and rehabilitation clinics are already using the platform to make nursing capacity transparent quickly and efficiently throughout Germany. Pflegeplatzmanager GmbH focuses especially on active network development on for aftercare providers — a recipe for success that has convinced entire health regions, for example in the Stuttgart area, Karlsruhe, Schleswig-Holstein or Saxony.

Pflegeplatzmanager still has a lot to accomplish

Pflegeplatzmanager GmbH still has big goals in mind — even under the challenging general market conditions. The company now has 30 employees at locations in Jena, Dresden, Nuremberg and Greiz. The entire team is working actively on connecting the administrative market participants in order to optimize the approval and billing process and thus to realize the goal of a networked, seamless medical care chain for all people in need of care.
