eZono appoints Sungmo Lee as new CEO
eZono’s supervisory board has appointed Sungmo Lee as the company’s Chief Executive Officer effective February 1, 2016. Mr. Lee succeeds Graham Cox, who remains with the company as chief advisor to the supervisory board.
“We are very excited for Sungmo to bring his skill, experience and remarkable track record to eZono. I firmly believe that, together with the team, he will enable the company to realize its enormous potential,” said Hugo Harrod of MVM Life Science Partners, lead investor in eZono.
Sungmo Lee is a Korean national with over 26 years of experience in the ultrasound industry, and he holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Lee began his career in the field as the project leader for the development of the first Doppler system for Medison in 1989; he later became head of Medison’s overseas business unit, which encompassed sales, marketing and service departments. From 2000 until 2010, he served as CEO of three different companies: the French company Kontron Medica (exited to Fukuda Denshi), Medison France, and for the Austrian 3D ultrasound company Kretztechnik, which he led the successful exit of to GE. In 2011, he returned to Korea and Samsung-Medison, where he was responsible for product planning and marketing.
