Three bm|t portfolio companies – jenetric GmbH, Zeilenwert GmbH and SecondSol GmbH – were awarded the ThEx (Thuringia Center for Start-ups and Entrepreneurship) Start-up Prize and took home a total of €23,000 in prize money. The ThEx Start-up Prize is awarded to successful or promising Thuringian start-up projects, and eleven companies in total received the prize.
The prizes were presented by, among others, Dieter Bauhaus (President of IHK Erfurt), Matthias Machnig (Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy — BMWi) and Wolfgang Tiefensee (Minister of the Thuringian Ministry of Economy, Science and Digital Companies –TMWWDG).
The prize money is intended for projects that the companies would not otherwise be able to take on with their own funds. Jenetric will use the prize money for sound insulation measures and technical equipment of the rented meeting rooms in TIP Jena. Zeilenwert intends to equip a Thuringian school class with e‑Book readers in order to gain experience and learn about new methods of collaborative learning with teachers, students and parents. SecondSol GmbH plans to purchase a special measuring device that will allow them to enhance product safety and heighten the quality of the used solar products they sell.
