Three bm|t portfolio companies receive the ThEx Start-up Prize

Three bm|t port­fo­lio com­pa­nies – jen­et­ric GmbH, Zeilen­wert GmbH and Sec­ond­Sol GmbH – were awarded the ThEx (Thuringia Cen­ter for Start-ups and Entre­pre­neur­ship) Start-up Prize and took home a total of €23,000 in prize money. The ThEx Start-up Prize is awarded to suc­cess­ful or promis­ing Thuringian start-up projects, and eleven com­pa­nies in total received the prize.

The prizes were pre­sented by, among oth­ers, Dieter Bauhaus (Pres­i­dent of IHK Erfurt), Matthias Mach­nig (Sec­re­tary of the Fed­eral Min­istry for Eco­nomic Affairs and Energy — BMWi) and Wolf­gang Tiefensee (Min­is­ter of the Thuringian Min­istry of Econ­omy, Sci­ence and Dig­i­tal Com­pa­nies –TMWWDG).

The prize money is intended for projects that the com­pa­nies would not oth­er­wise be able to take on with their own funds. Jen­et­ric will use the prize money for sound insu­la­tion mea­sures and tech­ni­cal equip­ment of the rented meet­ing rooms in TIP Jena. Zeilen­wert intends to equip a Thuringian school class with e‑Book read­ers in order to gain expe­ri­ence and learn about new meth­ods of col­lab­o­ra­tive learn­ing with teach­ers, stu­dents and par­ents. Sec­ond­Sol GmbH plans to pur­chase a spe­cial mea­sur­ing device that will allow them to enhance prod­uct safety and heighten the qual­ity of the used solar prod­ucts they sell.
