Erfurt/Jena (September 13, 2011). Simlity GmbH – a company that emerged from the Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena – is the first start-up-company receiving equity financing from the Thüringer Gründerfonds (ThGF). The recently founded firm provides a novel tool kit for the creation of browser-based games.
„There are only a few companies offering tool kits for browser games”, stated Sebastian Apel, managing director of GmbH. Games can be developed substantially faster and operated more efficiently with our innovative IT-tool. There is no need for cost-intensive development of single games with the server-centric solution provided by Simlity. With this approach Simlity serves a niche in a booming market.
Dr. Guido Bohnenkamp, managing director of bm|t, is convinced that this investment will pay-off: „The market for browser games shows strong growth with Germany being a leader in this segment. We are optimistic, that the current position can be further expanded with our investment”.
