New shareholder of Jenoptik AG

bm|t beteili­gungs­man­age­ment thürin­gen gmbh announced today that it has become share­holder of JENOPTIK AG by acquir­ing 11% of the company’s share cap­i­tal through Thüringer Indus­triebeteili­gungs-GmbH & Co. KG (TIB). The shares were acquired from ECE Indus­triebeteili­gun­gen GmbH, which is invested in JENOPTIK AG since 2007. While retain­ing a 14.01% stake, ECE Indus­triebeteili­gun­gen GmbH remains the biggest sin­gle share­holder of JENOPTIK AG and con­tin­ues to be long-term invested.

This invest­ment com­ple­ments the broad-based port­fo­lio of share­hold­ings of bm|t. „We believe JENOPTIK has excel­lent growth prospects both in national and inter­na­tional mar­kets dri­ven by its out­stand­ing inno­va­tion and prod­uct qual­ity as well as solid mar­ket posi­tion”, Dr. Guido Bohnenkamp, man­ag­ing direc­tor of bm|t stated.

JENOPTIK is an inte­grated opto­elec­tron­ics group cre­ated in 1991. With approx. 3,000 employ­ees world­wide the com­pany gen­er­ated sales of €510m in 2010. In Thuringia, about 1,300 employ­ees work for JENOPTIK at its sites in Jena and Trip­tis. The biggest share­hold­ers of JENOPTIK AG are ECE Indus­triebeteili­gun­gen GmbH (14.01%), TIB (11%) and ZOOM Immo­bilien GmbH (4.84%); 70.14% remain free float.

bm|t beteili­gungs­man­age­ment thürin­gen gmbh, Erfurt, is a sub­sidiary of Thüringer Auf­baubank. bm|t serves as a man­age­ment com­pany for six invest­ment funds with a total cap­i­tal of approx. €230m. At present, bm|t’s port­fo­lio con­sists of more than 40 com­pa­nies based in Thuringia.
