Preisbock.de completes third round of financing

• Live shop­ping-por­tal Preis­bock gains fur­ther investors
• New cap­i­tal to pro­mote the acqui­si­tion of new customers

The pop­u­lar live shop­ping-por­tal www.Preisbock.de has com­pleted its third round of financ­ing. Amongst oth­ers, beteili­gungs­man­age­ment thürin­gen gmbh (bm|t), the busi­ness angel Oliver Flaskäm­per (founder of the con­sumer page geizkragen.de (miser)) and Sparkasse Jena have invested in the youth­ful por­tal. In total the finan­cial injec­tion amounts to 1 mil­lion euros.

“At Preisbock.de we have dis­cov­ered a highly-moti­vated founder team with a solid cor­po­rate con­cept. Preis­bock has already demon­strated in the past that live-shop­ping rep­re­sents a sus­tain­able busi­ness model and is find­ing a grow­ing band of devo­tees”, states Dr. Guido Bohnenkamp, man­ag­ing direc­tor of bm|t.

“We want to use the new cap­i­tal pri­mar­ily to gain new cus­tomers but also to fur­ther inte­grate social-com­merce ele­ments in order to pro­vide users with a par­tic­u­larly inter­ac­tive and lively shop­ping expe­ri­ence. By way of exam­ple, a weekly video live-cast begins in Feb­ru­ary in which a selected product-of–the-day will be intro­duced. In addi­tion to this, a new ver­sion of Preisbock.de starts in March with expanded live fea­tures”, explains Preis­bock man­ag­ing direc­tor Chris­t­ian Grötsch.

In March last year Preisbock.de already gained the busi­ness angels Lukasz Gad­owski and Oliver Jung as investors.

Preisbock.de is a “Live Shop” on the inter­net that each day offers a greatly reduced prod­uct for spon­ta­neous sale as “deal of the day”. The offer is valid for up to a week as long as stocks last. The busi­ness model is based on coöper­a­tion with estab­lished retail­ers and man­u­fac­tur­ers. Preisbock.de was founded in July 2007 by dot­Source GmbH. Since the begin­ning of 2008 the por­tal has been part of Preis­bock GmbH, com­pris­ing mar­ket­ing and sales experts who can call on many years of expe­ri­ence in E‑commerce.

The Erfurt-based bm|t beteili­gungs­man­age­ment thürin­gen gmbh – a sub­sidiary of Thüringer Auf­baubank – is the man­age­ment com­pany for four invest­ment funds; TI – Thüringer Inno­va­tions­fonds, VCT – Ven­ture Cap­i­tal Thürin­gen, TIB – Thüringer Indus­triebeteili­gungs-GmbH & Co. KG and PET ‑Pri­vate Equity Thürin­gen GmbH & Co. AG. bm|t cur­rently man­ages invest­ments in more than 60 com­pa­nies, with a vol­ume of invest­ment of around 165 mil­lion euros.
