beteili­gungs­man­age­ment thürin­gen gmbh has joined the newly-formed coach­ing net­work of High-Tech-Grün­der­fonds. bm|t invest­ment man­agers are avail­able to give direct sup­port to future com­pany founders dur­ing the period imme­di­ately before found­ing the busi­ness. They work together as teams to pro­duce a con­cept plan for the new enter­prise, take part in the pre­sen­ta­tion of the con­cept to High-Tech-Grün­der­fonds and develop the detailed busi­ness plan, which should lead even­tu­ally to financ­ing. Dur­ing this phase, High-Tech-Grün­der­fonds invests a mix of share­hold­ing and loans of up to 500,000 Euros.

In Thuringia three enter­prises have already received financ­ing from High-Tech-Grün­der­fonds. In the case of the Jena-based ALEA GmbH, bm|t also took part in sub­se­quent rounds of dis­cus­sions on financing.

From its funds – with a value of 272m Euros – High-Tech-Grün­der­fonds makes risk cap­i­tal avail­able to young, high-poten­tial, tech­nol­ogy com­pa­nies. The poten­tial founders select a part­ner from the coach­ing net­work, who then accom­pa­nies them through the entire deci­sion mak­ing process until fund­ing is received from High-Tech-Gründerfonds.

The scope and con­tent of the advice is tai­lored to the require­ments and exist­ing capa­bil­i­ties of the found­ing team. bm|t can call on years of expe­ri­ence and knowl­edge in the field of financ­ing young, tech­nol­ogy-based businesses.

In the post-invest­ment phase, bm|t remains avail­able for fur­ther con­sul­tancy. In addi­tion to the cap­i­tal made avail­able by High-Tech-Grün­der­fonds, there is fur­ther oppor­tu­nity to finance the busi­ness by draw­ing on funds man­aged by bm|t. Dr Guido Bohnenkamp, Man­ag­ing Direc­tor of bm|t, says, “These activ­i­ties have led to an exten­sion of the sup­port offered to the tech­nol­ogy com­pa­nies to include the phase lead­ing up to the found­ing of the busi­ness. This is not about cap­i­tal – like other share induce­ments – but rather about con­sul­ta­tive sup­port”. In fact bm|t cov­ers the total period of devel­op­ment of the busi­ness from found­ing, through the early phases all the way to growth financing.
