beteiligungsmanagement thüringen gmbh receives accreditation as “coach” to High-Tech-Gründerfonds
beteiligungsmanagement thüringen gmbh has joined the newly-formed coaching network of High-Tech-Gründerfonds. bm|t investment managers are available to give direct support to future company founders during the period immediately before founding the business. They work together as teams to produce a concept plan for the new enterprise, take part in the presentation of the concept to High-Tech-Gründerfonds and develop the detailed business plan, which should lead eventually to financing. During this phase, High-Tech-Gründerfonds invests a mix of shareholding and loans of up to 500,000 Euros.
In Thuringia three enterprises have already received financing from High-Tech-Gründerfonds. In the case of the Jena-based ALEA GmbH, bm|t also took part in subsequent rounds of discussions on financing.
From its funds – with a value of 272m Euros – High-Tech-Gründerfonds makes risk capital available to young, high-potential, technology companies. The potential founders select a partner from the coaching network, who then accompanies them through the entire decision making process until funding is received from High-Tech-Gründerfonds.
The scope and content of the advice is tailored to the requirements and existing capabilities of the founding team. bm|t can call on years of experience and knowledge in the field of financing young, technology-based businesses.
In the post-investment phase, bm|t remains available for further consultancy. In addition to the capital made available by High-Tech-Gründerfonds, there is further opportunity to finance the business by drawing on funds managed by bm|t. Dr Guido Bohnenkamp, Managing Director of bm|t, says, “These activities have led to an extension of the support offered to the technology companies to include the phase leading up to the founding of the business. This is not about capital – like other share inducements – but rather about consultative support”. In fact bm|t covers the total period of development of the business from founding, through the early phases all the way to growth financing.
High-Tech-Gründerfonds invests risk capital in young, high-potential, technology-based companies, which convert promising research projects into entrepreneurial success. High-Tech-Gründerfonds does not just provide the start-up capital but also the necessary management consultancy and support through a coaching network. High-Tech-Gründerfonds, which emerged from the initiative “Partners in Innovation”, manages a 272m Euros fund created by capital contributions from The German Ministry for Economics and Technology, the KfW Group of Banks and the industrial corporations BASF, Deutsche Telekom, Siemens, Robert Bosch, DaimlerChrysler and Carl Zeiss.
